Le Tracce Materialistiche (Materialistic Traces) uses receipts — physical evidence of overconsumption — as a commentary on materialism. By experimenting with thermal paper’s heat-reactive properties, the receipts are burnt into irregular patterns and repurposed as intricate inlays on functional objects. The work transforms disposable proof of consumerism into surfaces that gradually fade, reflecting the temporary relationships with material possessions and questioning how we value and interact with waste.
